October 12, 2009 7:00 P.M.
Attending members: Tim Robertson, Randy Burns, Rick Bishop, Don Weigel, and Matt Hull
Also attending: Mary Robertson and Jamie Burtner (Red Byrd Restaurant)
The minutes from September's meeting were read and approved.
Old Business: The Committee reviewed plans seeking preliminary approval for Allegany Power's substation off
of Coffman Farms Rd. Discussion was held regarding 50' right-of way widening of Coffman Farms Road, proposed
landscaping (16 white spruces and 21 Leland cypresses) and buffer zones, existing foliage, 6' chain link
fence, silt fencing, Gabion wall, and signage on the fencing. A motion was made by Tim to grant conditional
approval for Allegany Power's substation's final plat. It was seconded by Rick. All agreed.
New Business: Jamie Burtner was present to request a sign in front of the Red Byrd Restaurant. It would be
11' x 4', lighted or not, on stakes, moveable, can put letters on it to advertise specials and draw in more
business. It would not protrude beyond Red Byrd's existing signage. This sign would not be shared with the
Country Store. He was told to get the application from Amy and to follow setbacks (Article 704E, 20 foot
front right of way, 50 f' from center line of Rt. 34). A sketch will also be needed. Amy can issue the
permit once everything is complete.
The meeting adjourned at 7:43PM.
