Keedysville Planning and Zoning

November 9, 2009 7:00 P.M.

Attending members: Tim Robertson, Randy Burns, Rick Bishop, and Matt Hull

Also attending: Mary Robertson, Bud Gudmundson (GIS) and Roy Lescalleet (911)

The minutes from October's meeting were read and approved.

Old Business: The Allegany Substation still needs final approval. Discussion was held regarding the need for another street light for this area and the disruption that it would cause for the subdivision there. There will be no trucks in and out and Tim felt that lighting may not be needed.

New Business: Bud Gudmundson and Roy Lescalleet were present to ask for involvement in street names and address assignments. They did not want duplication or sound-a-likes for the 911 system. They would like to help Keedysville review this process long before final approval is given. In the future, the town should call Mark Dewald (county planning department 240-313-2436).

The committee received a letter from Maryland Department of Planning that allows for an extension to permits that will expire due to economic ties through June 30, 2010.

The Maryland Department of Planning demands that the planning board and the appeals board must complete an online course that familiarizes commission members with their duties and responsibilities. Once completed, a certificate would be issued.

Rick asked if a "heads up" could be e-mailed to members if a complicated issue is expected at the next meeting in order to be more prepared.

Cannon Ridge's HOA is requesting a copy of the P & Z Ordinances. Matt said he will take care of this.

Meeting adjourned at 7:34 PM.
