Keedysville Planning and Zoning

Minutes from January's meeting were read and approved.
Old Business: Kettler Brothers has sent a letter stating that they want to reduce the paved area of their
roads to two 12 foot lanes, with two 10 foot lanes in the cul de sacs, with sidewalks on one side that have
a 4 foot grass buffer strip. Committee wants 12 foot lane minimums, sidewalks ADA compliant with curbs,
contingent upon seeing a plat (last seen in 2004). Also, Coffman Farms Road problems still need to be
addressed, but we have not heard from Kettler about this.
This committee needs to appoint a new chairman for the yearly term. Motion was made by Randy to appoint
Tim chairman for another year. Tony seconded, all agreed.
New Business: Dr. Guedenet sent a letter requesting rezoning for his property at 21 Wyand Drive from
suburban residential to neighborhood commercial. He has 4 acres. He will need a public hearing. Tim will
let Amy know to start this process.
House Bill 1141 contains two parts that must be written into our Comprehensive Plan; Growth Element and
Water Resources Element. This process is too complicated for the committee to handle alone. Greg Murray is
the county administrator available to help small towns in this process. Tim will ask the Town to send this
out for bid.
