Keedysville Town Council
April 2, 2007
The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was opened with the following members present: Mayor Hull, Council Members
Brumage, Robertson, Walton and Town Administrator Simmons.
Minutes were read and approved.
The treasurer's report was as follows: $341,142.47
Mary Robertson advised that 4 citizens showed up on March 22 for the 1st meeting regarding design and ideas of the new Town Hall. Next
meeting will be held on April 18th @ 7:30pm at the Town Hall anyone with ideas or willing to serve on this committee is encouraged to
attend.
Asst. Mayor Levey and Council member Walton recently meet with Sharpsburg's Mayor Speilman regarding the possibility of shared OT hours
through the Wash. Co. Sheriff's Department.
Keedysville was in receipt of a recent letter sent by the MD State Highway Department regarding the Speed sentry unit. It was advised that
the unit be completely removed due to not meeting suggested standards of the SHA.
3 bids for conduit work within the park were reviewed and discuses. A Motion was made by Richard Walton and 2nd by David Brumage to accept
bid from Remsburg Family Partnership for $6,138.00 excluding Rock Excavation. All Agreed motion passed.
David Brumage made a motion to sign new right-of-way for Allegheny Power and the new electrical work to be completed. Richard Walton 2nd
all agreed motion passed.
Announcement was made that bulk curb side pick up will be May 19th.
Motions were made to make several donations. Mary Robertson made motion to donate $100 to local Girl Scout troop 575. Motion was 2nd by
David Brumage. Richard Walton also made a motion to donate $100 to the Lupus Foundation in Lee's honor. That motion was 2nd by
Brumage as well. All motions carried.
Mr. & Mrs. Doub were present to express their continued interest in annexation of approx. 15AC located adjacent to the Kelter Bros. project.
The Doub's expressed their concern about being "Blocked off" from any access to their property by the development of Keedysville Knolls.
The doub's would be willing to donate a small piece of land to be used as a playground for children within that development. The Doubs
were encouraged to attend the P&Z meeting held on the 9th, and were advised that at this time Ketler Bros. had not presented a plem plan
to the P&Z.
